Sub Four Attempt- Cooper Teare & Luis Grijalva This Weekend

This weekend, two of the country's best will make an attempt to break four minutes in the mile.

Fairfield Armijo (Ca.) High's Luis Grijalva and St. Joseph Notre Dame (Ca.) High's Cooper Teare will work together at the Sacramento Meet Of Champions to try and become the first boys of 2017 to go sub-four.

Grijalva had a terrific XC season and defeated Teare at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic.

Grijalva then ran eight seconds faster than Teare at the California XC State Championships this fall.

Since track season began, Teare has been on a tear. He remains undefeated in 2017.  It all started at New Balance National Indoors, as he won a stacked field in the mile with a 4:06.  His success continued as he won the Texas Distance Festival 5K in 14:13, followed with a win in the Arcadia 3200m in 8:41 and then soloed a 4:00.16 in the mile at Brooks Mt. SAC Relays.

With two of the strongest distance runners in the nation toeing the line this weekend, stay tuned for something special to happen on the track.
