We had two showcase meets, VA and NY, between our two most recent MileSplit 50 Updates, and showcase talent they did. It's created a huge changeup in the the COROS MileSplit50 Boys Individual Indoor Track and Field Rankings. These rankings provide an exclusive look at the nation's top athletes, highlighting those already making an impact this season.
We are seeing a mix of returning household names, and future stars collide. Many we knew from last year, and others are breaking out for the very first time. And as always, injury plays a factor, as our new M50 #1 was dealing with injury in 2024, but returns strong, while others who were ranked, may be dropping for the inverse reason.
Stay tuned as we continue to dive into the MileSplit50 rankings and celebrate the incredible talent in boy's indoor track and field.
Below, you can find the individual rankings.

A Closer Look at the COROS MS50 Rankings
Jonathan Simms (TX) - M50 #1
It was going to be a hard case to dethrone Quincy Wilson as US #1 in the indoor season, but Simms has been making the case rapidly. In his season opener, he ran 400m faster indoors than any of Quincy's best, barring Wilson's own National Record race at NBN last year. He's also faster than the junior over 200m, dropping a US #2 last weekend of 20.95, winning a prelim where Justin Stewart would go 20.94 in the finals to set the US #1 mark. And if that wasn't enough, Simms capped it all off with a US #12 in the 60m. It's an impressive resume, and with rumors of Millrose on the horizon, that list could get even longer.
Ja'Shaun Lloyd (TX) - M50 #4
He's the new National Leader in both the 60m and 60HH, with times that also convert to US #1 in both the 55m and 55HH. Primarily an outdoor athlete, the Texas star heads indoors to clock impressive marks ahead of the Spring season, which will see him return to the 300H.
Tayvon Kitchen (OR) - M50 #11
Shaking off the rust from XC, and already making an impact, the Crater boys showcased their prowess up in Washington. Kitchen went 8:02.02 in the 3000m for US #1 and then came back the next day and dropped a US #2 in the mile of 4:04.96, only behind his teammate Tostensen, who went 4:03.69.
Cooper Lutkenhaus (TX) - M50 #14
The only sophomore on the MileSplit 50, and with good reason. By itself, his mark of 1:50.15 indoors, in January, is worthy of this ranking alone, but the fact that he did so en route to a sophomore National Record only amplifies that mark. That mark would have ended the season as US #3, and Lutkenhaus has plenty of season left to improve, including a possible trip to NYC.
