Just like the past two weeks, here's our Most Improved boys standings for New Mexico. Let's see if we have any similarities to last week's Most Improved chart.
Biggest improvement over the four years goes to Oliver West (Virgin Valley HS). From a 3:40 minute 800m run down to the low 2:20's, West's improvement over four years years has been incredible. His 2:23.40 P.R occurred just about two weeks ago; and with a little time left in this season, he might have his shot at cracking the 2:20 mark for the event.
Another notable mention is Ben Finlinson (Lincoln County HS). He was running in the middle 2:20's his freshman year and has run a 2:01 both last season and this season. Finlinson is the closest sub-2 minute performer on these rankings and on the right day might just be rewarded with that 1:59.00 before he closes out his senior year.
