Nevada's Future Stars - Boys

Sawyer Hutton (Somerset Academy Sky Pointe)

He's just a sophomore, but my goodness, Hutton has already started making an impact on the Nevada rankings.

At the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, the sophomore clocked a 15:03.20 in the Sweepstakes rate on the 3-mile course; he finished 113th in the highly competitive field. This was his first 3-mile attempt this season, but he also secured a 15:23.00 5K at the Red Rock Running Company earlier in the season. His performances were good enough to land him Top 5 spots for both 5K and 3-mile distances in New Mexico.

Truth be told, Hutton is relatively new to high school cross country, in his freshman year, he only raced at two invitationals. Even though this is his second high school season, he can fairly be identified as Nevada's top underclassman (freshman/sophomore) runner for this season to date.

Keep an eye out for Sawyer Hutton as he undergoes his first full high school season.
