2025 NIAA XC State Championships Recap (Girls)

NIAA 5A: GIRLS 5K RUN - STATE FINALS

Faith Lutheran Surges Late to Capture 5A Girls Cross Country Championship

Faith Lutheran used a tightly packed scoring five to claim the 5A Girls state title, edging Carson and Somerset Sky Pointe in one of the closest team battles of the meet. Led by junior duo Scarlett Cotrone and Sophie Weisz, who finished 9th and 10th in identical times of 19:45, the Crusaders posted 82 points with an impressive 1:11 split.

Galena sophomore Gioia Coudriet delivered the day's standout individual performance, flying to victory in 17:54, the fastest girls' time across all classifications. Her teammate Emme Ream added a strong 4th-place finish, but Galena's depth couldn't match Faith Lutheran's tight pack, landing the Grizzlies 6th overall.

Somerset Sky Pointe earned 3rd place behind runner-up individual finisher Aislin McMahon, while Carson (2nd) featured remarkable balance with four runners between 19:17 and 20:41, paced by freshman standout Samantha Ingram in 6th.

Faith Lutheran's cohesion and closing strength secured the championship in a deep and highly competitive 5A field.
