The Eagles opened the 2026 campaign with a trip to Las Vegas for the Red Rock Running Company Invitational, taking on 36 teams from Nevada and California and sweeping the team titles in the North of Sahara Division.
For the second consecutive year, Aislin McMahon was the first across the finish line, clocking 18:15 and stretching her winning margin to 35 seconds. Teammate Rayna Lewis, making her high school debut, ran 18:50 to become the 13th-fastest freshman in state history.
A 1-2 punch at the front would have been difficult enough to answer. Six additional Eagles finishing inside the top 20 and four in the top 10 made it impossible.
Sophia Gallegos (19:26) and Aubrei Lay (19:31) placed sixth and seventh, followed by Mackenzie McClain (20:12) and Jaza Rahman (20:24) in ninth and 10th, with Katherine Hodges (20:43) rounding out the top 14.
The Eagles put four runners ahead of third-place Shadow Ridge's first finisher and their entire top seven ahead of runner-up Faith Lutheran's No. 5 runner. They posted a 1:57 spread from McMahon to McClain, a number that figures to shrink as the 3-5 runners continue to develop and close the gap.
They took down Faith Lutheran and Shadow Ridge 25-45-82, respectively.
