Cross Country Classic

Run cross country at Washoe Countys beautiful Rancho San Rafael Park. Race a loop course that will allow for coaches and spectators to watch and cheer numerous times.

Where: Rancho San Rafael Park, 1595 N. Sierra St., Reno, NV, 89503
Schedule: 4:00pm Eighth Grade and Under Boys and Girls ~2800 meters
4:20pm Junior Varsity Girls ~3800 meters
4:45pm Junior Varsity Boys ~3800 meters
5:10pm College/Open Women ~5400 meters
5:35pm Varsity Girls (Top 7 only) ~3800 meters
6:00pm College/Open Men ~7000 meters
6:30pm Varsity Boys (Top 7 only) ~3800 meters
Course: The course will consist of a loop of approx. 2000 meters. The course is a primarily grass with about 400 meters of dirt trail each loop. Runners will cross sidewalks and pavement several times each loop. Spikes may be used but they should probably be due to the pavement.
TEAM CAMP/WARM UP AREA: In the areas around the finish line or starting line.
Course Preview: The course will be first available for preview starting at 2:00pm on Thursday, September 1.
Packet Pick Up: At meet headquarters in the Chinese Pagoda near the finish line.
Medical: Trainers will be available at the course starting 45 minutes before the first race.
Entries/Deadline: Contact Kirk Elias at kdelias@unr.edu to reserve a spot for your team. Entries are unlimited/team. Please register your entries at www.directathletics.com Starting August 14 (High School may enter on Athletic.net) . Entry deadline is Monday, August 29th at 6:00PM PDT.
Entry Fee: Entry fees due at check in. They may be mailed in advance to Kirk Elias, 111 Legacy Hall/MS 264, University of Nevada, Reno, NV 89557. Please make checks to Board of Regents. Entry fees are non-refundable!!!
High School $20/Individual if not a complete team.
$100 for each gender team from a school. If only Boys or only girls are attending, the total is $100. If there are Boys and Girls squads competing then the total is $200.
College $25/Individual up to four individuals/college.
$150/team, $250 for combined program
Open athletes: $25 Non-refundable payment is due upon registering.
8th Grade and Under $5/Individual
Registration for 8th grade and younger: Email Name, Gender, and Grade to LYNN MENTZER lynnmentzer@sbcglobal.net by 6:00PM PDT on Tuesday, August 30th.
Registration for High School: Register through athletic.net. Registration deadline is 6:00PM PDT on Monday, August 29.
Registration for College: Register through www.directathletics.com. Registration deadline is 6:00PM PDT on Monday, August 29.
Registration for Open Athletes: Register through www.directathletics.com. Registration deadline is 6:00PM PDT on Monday, August 29th.
AWARDS
High School: To the top 20 individuals in each race.
College/Open: To the top 20 individuals.
Concessions: T-Shirts and refreshments will be available for purchase.
Directions: From I-80 east bound take Exit 13 (Virginia St Exit). Turn left (north) onto Sierra St The park will be on your left in 1 mile.
From I-80 west bound take Exit 13 (Virginia St Exit). Turn right (north) onto Sierra St (one block past Virginia St). The park will be on your left in 1 mile.
Showers: There are no showers available at the park.
