This week in track and field season produced some amazing performances in and out of state. Here's the poll highlighting some of Nevada's best performances.
BOYS CANDIDATES
Jayden (JT) Thompson (Reed HS)- The senior doubled down at the Chandler Rotary Invitational with the 100m and 200m dash. Thompson walked away with a first place finish and new P.R in the 200m which resulted in a state lead. He also placed runner-up in the 100m at the invite.
Anderson Brady (Faith Lutheran HS)- The Chandler Rotary Invitational witnessed a Nevada state lead from the junior. He signed up for the Mile and emerged with a new 4:08.92 P.R along with a runner-up finish in the event at the invite.
Kayden Hulet (Sparks HS)- Two new P.R's for the junior at the 50th Annual Elks Invitational. A big toss in the discus separates Hulet from the rest of the state by over ten feet. This lands him a spot amongst the Top 50 throws this season in the event nationwide.
GIRLS CANDIDATES
Eleanor Raker (Galena HS)- A great day to double for Raker at the Dublin Distance Fiesta. The senior keeps on chipping away as the season progresses. Her two new season bests of 4:52.58 and 10:26.83 in the Mile and 3200m are both new state leads for Nevada.
Amaya Chapman (Spanish Springs HS)- Took over the Nevada state lead in the 400m after running a season best at the John Barsanti Farmers Insurance Elite 8 Invitational. Also competed in the 100m and 200m where she placed 2nd and 1st respectively.
Julia Vancura (Faith Lutheran HS)- Just a sophomore, Vancura took on the mid-distance triple (400m, 800m, and Mile) at the Chandler Rotary Invitational. Partaking in the Varsity division of the invite, her top finish was a 1st place and P.R in the 400m dash.
