The Nevada outdoor season opens with a strong returning class across nearly every event group. Many of the state's top performers from last spring are back, particularly among the senior class.
Sprint Events Highlight Senior Depth and State Leaders Returning
Nevada's sprint events feature several experienced returners who posted some of the fastest marks in the state last season. Brayden Vierra-Gonzalez (Desert Oasis) leads the returning boys 100m field after running 10.54, with Andres Pollard (Clark) close behind at 10.61. Canyon Springs senior Chance Trotter returns with the top 200m mark of 21.49, while Braylon Howard (Liberty) leads the returning 400m runners after clocking 48.29.
On the girls side, Delyla Ross (Sunrise Mountain) leads the returning 100m sprinters with an 11.72 mark. Anaiyah Ross (Sierra Vista) and Samiyah Washington (Legacy) also return among the top 200m performers, while Damoni Poole (Centennial) leads the returning 400m field after running an impressive 56.40 last season.
Distance Events Feature Proven Leaders and Emerging Talent
Nevada's distance events bring back several runners with strong national-level performances. Brady Anderson (Faith Lutheran) leads the boys middle-distance group after running 1:52.09 in the 800m and 4:07.51 in the 1600m. Carter Prater (Somerset Academy Sky Pointe) returns with the fastest 3200m time at 9:09.14, while Galena teammates Hunter Steele and David Coisson provide depth across the 800m and 1600m.
On the girls side, Katelyn Johnson (Palo Verde) leads the returning 800m field after running 2:14.82 and finishing seventh at Nike Outdoor Nationals. Brooke-Lynne Miller (Coronado) returns with the top 1600m time at 4:58.58, while Gioia Coudriet (Galena) leads the returning 3200m runners with a 10:50.40 performance.
Indoor results have already added new names to watch. Ollie Reid (Desert Oasis) ran 9:40.66 indoors in the 3200m, showing significant improvement heading into the outdoor season, while Samantha Tolotti (Bishop Manogue) posted a 2:20.92 indoor 800m that suggests she could contend among the state's top middle-distance runners.
Hurdle Events Led by Experienced Returners and Early Indoor Momentum
The boys hurdles events return several experienced competitors. Christian Kai (Arbor View) leads the returning 110m hurdles field after running 14.39 last spring, followed by Brody DeFranco (South Tahoe) and Elyjah Cobwell (Green Valley). Cobwell's indoor mark of 14.74 suggests the event could see faster times as the season progresses.
In the 300m hurdles, Octaviann Cordova (Elko) returns with the fastest mark at 38.14.
Arya Saini (South Tahoe) was the top performer from the state high school season in the 100m hurdles. Ahtziri Gadzuric (Coronado) leads returning runners in the 300m hurdles with a time of 45.02.
Field Events Bring Versatility Across Throws, Jumps, and Vault

In the pole vault, Luke Juden (Shadow Ridge) and Tristan McGrane (Palo Verde) both cleared 14-9 last season.
On the girls side, Nahla Mickle (North Valleys) leads the returning shot put field after throwing 39-4.5 last spring and has returned from the late indoor season with a 33-10 mark. Tallulah Berckley (The Meadows) returns as the top discus thrower with a 125-1 performance.
